Sprinkler extinguishes office block fire in London’s New Oxford Street

Overview

On the 20th March 2014, a fire started in an electrical transformer in the basement of a 10 storey office block in New Oxford Street, London. The sprinkler system was activated and two heads operated to extinguish the fire. London Fire Brigade dispatched two pumping appliances to the incident but the fire was reported as “Out On Arrival”.

Damage caused/prevented

As the incident happened over a holiday period the level of disruption to business is not known.
